          TubeCAD Tech Document #4:
Project a tube assembly so that the two intersecting tubes are displayed true to the screen simultaneously.

In the true plane formed between two interesecting tubes, sometimes the angle formed is not perpendicular. If this is the case, then it becomes important to find the true plane between the two tubes in order to measure the true angle in that plane.

          Follow these steps:

Step 1 Use steps 1 through 6 in Tech Document #3 first.

Step 2 Remain in DraftChoice Plus. In the view that shows the rotation angle between the two tubes, measure the line angle of the secondary tube straight that is intersecting the master tube. Measure it relative to the absolute zero degree axis (moving to the right). Record this value for use within TubeCAD. (Click here to see the Tech Document that explains measuring angles in DraftChoice.)

Step 3 Exit DraftChoice Plus and load TubeCAD with the assembly layout present on the screen.

Step 4 Enter the AuxView command mode. Project a new view from the view that contains the view constructed in Step 5 of Tech Document #3. Use the line angle obtained in DraftChoice Plus to project the new view perpendicular to the leg of the secondary tube intersecting the master tube.

Step 5 Save & Exit the AuxView command mode. TubeCAD now display the true plane of the two intersecting tubes.

A TubeCAD screen shows a true assembly view between two tubes in the left view: True Assembly
