You can load TubeCAD tomorrow morning with today's layout showing on the screen immediately without any file loading.

If your computer ever lost power in the middle of a TubeCAD session, you've probably discovered that the TubeCAD data is usually completely recovered when reloading TubeCAD. TubeCAD can do this because it always keeps a set of backup data on the hard drive to prevent loss of data.

Since the automatic backup was already a built-in feature of TubeCAD, I decided to allow operators to choose to manually leave these backup files on the disk when unloading TubeCAD from memory. The command to do this is the Make Backup & Exit command in the File pulldown menu.

Use this command when you are ready to exit TubeCAD and want it to remember the current state of the layout on the screen. The next time you load TubeCAD, you will see a message something like this:

          +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+
          ¦ ¦
¦ TubeCAD BACKUP file data is on the disk. ¦
          ¦ ¦
          +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Enter Yes (or mouse button) for YES: Loads backup data to TubeCAD memory.
Enter No and press Enter for NO: Permanently deletes current backup data.

Load the backup file of D:\TC58\TCD\LAYOUT? <Y>

Just press the Enter key or the mouse button and TubeCAD will snap the layout from a previous session on the screen without delay.
