TubeCAD creates DXF files that can be imported into other CAD packages like AutoCAD and CADKEY. Some of our customers are moving to high-end CAD systems like the EDS UNIGRAPHICS system, and they sometimes get the impression from others that they must have IGES capabilities in order to transfer data from TubeCAD to UNIGRAPHICS.
According to our sources at the division of EDS that develops UNIGRAPHICS, their program has had DXF capability for some time now. The program can read and write DXF files (as can most CAD packages). You can confirm this for yourself by searching for the EDS UNIGRAPHICS page on the Internet and contacting the nearest office of EDS UNIGRAPHICS tech. support.
If you are considering the purchase of TubeCAD and want to test its DXF files with UNIGRAPHICS, then we recommend that you download sample DXF files from this web site. These files are DXF files exactly as TubeCAD builds them.
