Install To A Windows 95 Menu
TubeCAD comes with a Windows icon file that can be installed to a Windows
95 menu or desktop. Follow these steps to install the icon to a menu
shortcut:
-
Right click on the Start button. A pop-up menu will
display.
-
Click on Open. If you want to install the shortcut in the Startup
Menu, then you don't have to select any other menu window. If you want
to install the TubeCAD shortcut in a sub-menu, then double click on the Programs
folder and find and open any other folder that represents the menu that you
want to install the shortcut to.
-
Right click with the mouse pointer over any part of the Window background.
In the pop-up menu, click on New, then click on Shotcut. A Create
Shortcut dialog will appear.
-
Click on the Browse... button and locate TC.BAT. Select it and
click on Open. The Create Shortcut dialog will re-appear.
-
Click on the Next> button, and enter the name for the shortcut. An
example is "TubeCAD 5.8" (without the quote marks). Click on the
Next> button.
-
Select a temporary icon for the shortcut. The MS-DOS icon works
fine for the moment. Click on the Finish button.
-
The menu will re-appear. Select the new shortcut that you just
created and right click on it. A pop-up menu will appear.
-
Click on Properties. The TubeCAD 5.8 Properties dialog will
appear.
-
Click on the Program tab.
-
Click on the Change Icon... button.
-
Click on the Browse... button.
-
Find the TC58.ICO file in the TC58 directory. Your Windows 95
may not be setup to show the file name extension of ICO, so look for TC58
file with a small Windows icon next to it. This will be the ICO file.
Click on OK. The TubeCAD 5.8 Properties dialog will
re-appear.
-
Click on OK. The new icon should now appear over the TubeCAD 5.8
shortcut.
Install To The Windows 95
Desktop
It is possible to also install a TubeCAD shortcut to the desktop. (That
is where you find the My Computer icon.)
The steps are very similar to those descrbed in the Menu section above, except
that it is not necessary to select a menu to begin adding a New shortcut.
Simply click on the right mouse button anywhere over the desktop to
start the process.
