More about the Supravision Protocol

The original Supravision protocol was developed before the advent of Windows when DOS computers were handling all RS-232 communications. Many of these older protocols depend on the fast switching of the control-lines in RS-232 ports - and this is true of the legacy Supravision protocol. When introduced, Windows took over the management of the RS-232 port - but many times slower than the equivalent DOS-based computers.

This created a timing problem for users of Supravision protocol when switching to Windows. Our new Benderlink for Supravision software is designed to communicate in a way that overcomes these Windows speed issues.

System Features

TRANSLATES SUPRAVISION DATA

Connects directly to the Supravision-based measuring centers in order to speed communications with benders that use the older Supravision RS-232 protocol.

FAST BI-DIRECTIONAL COMMUNICATIONS

When this Benderlink manages Supravision/Supravision protocol communications, each bi-directional transmission improves transmission times from more then 3 minutes down to less than 15 seconds. That's 12 times faster!

RECALL DATA FROM THE BENDER

Recall any part by part number from the bender into the measuring center.

SEND DATA TO THE BENDER

Transmit parts to the bender for part setup.

ENABLES CORRECTIONS LOOPS

Translates corrections data between tube measuring centers and the bender. This feature allows the measuring center to make direct corrections to the bender data to adjust the machine automatically.

PROVIDES CLEAR COMMUNICATION STATUS FEEDBACK

The Benderlink user-interface displays the status of communications. The program provides feedback for the type of measuring center being used, the status of communications, and translation status.
