About Benderlink for Eaton Leonard

SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
This system works by allowing Windows software to communicate with EL DATA SERVER modules.  Each bender is assigned its own EL DATA SERVER module.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
This is something that customers have been requesting for years on older Eaton Leonard benders.  Each module includes a LAN connection for either network cable or wireless (WiFi) communication capability.  This is the first system that allows this feature on legacy Eaton Leonard benders.
STANDARD TCP/IP NETWORK
Because of the network capability of the EL DATA SERVER modules, all connections use standard Ethernet cables.  This means that your bender can be placed wherever Ethernet cables are run.  In most modern plants, Ethernet connections can be easily extended everywhere.
PC-BASED STORAGE
The software allows for the storage of bender data on the Benderlink hard drive.  Data can be both RECALLED and SENT.
CORRECTIONS LOOP
The software also supports full corrections loops between the measuring center and each bender.

What is AICON 3D TubeInspect?

The AICON 3D TubeInspect system is a vision system that measures tube and tube assemblies.

How Benderlink Works with TubeInspect To Adjust Eaton Leonard Benders

The overall philosophy is simple: Load the TubeInspect deviation data into memory. Load the bender data into memory. Correct the bender data with the deviation data automatically. Send the corrected data to the bender.

View the larger image of the Benderlink screen shown here to see both the TubeInspect and Eaton Leonard data side by side on the main Benderlink screen. The TubeInpsect data is shown on the left, and the Eaton Leonard data is shown on the right.

DETAILS OF A TYPICAL CORRECTIONS LOOP EXAMPLE

Benderlink imports TubeInspect files that contain deviation data.
A typical corrections loop works like this:

  1. Enter setup and master data in TubeInspect.

  2. Setup Benderlink for EL. Switch to the appropriate bender number. Import the Eaton Leonard data from a Benderlink EL file, or import data from your VELOG, EL2000, or PREMIER bender.

  3. Setup the bender. You can either hand-enter the data at the bender control, or send the new data through Benderlnk for EL - from the AICON 3D TubeInspect software.

  4. Bend the tube.

  5. At the TubeInspect computer, Load (or switch to) the TubeInpsect software. Measure the tube with TubeInspect.

  6. Check for deviations outside of tolerance. (Check for "go" or "no-go.")

  7. If the part does not pass inspection, then save a TubeInspect measure file that contains the deviation data.

  8. Switch back to Benderlink for EL and import the new measure file into Benderlink.

  9. Adjust the Eaton Leonard bender data (YBC) with the TubeInspect data in memory. You can see actual adjusted data in the two images below. Look at ROW 9 of the Eaton Leonard data in the first image, then view the same row in the second image. The values have been adjusted by the imported AICON TubeInspect file. (For example: Y 1.063 becomes Y 1.026)

  10. View the corrections in Benderlink and approve them. If they are reasonable and within the bounds of what you expect, then send the corrected data to the bender.

STORING Eaton Leonard BEND DATA at WINDOWS or Your NETWORK

When the part passes inspection, the operator can save the Eaton Leonard data to the TubeInspect hard drive or network path. Benderlink for EL saves ALL OF THE BEND DATA at the control. This includes the SETUP data, the YBC data, and the EXTENDED SETUP data (if it is available).

When it's time to run the part in the future, you can then load the Benderlink for EL data into memory, select the appropriate bender, then send the data to the Eaton Leonard.
