FIF Translator Main Menu

    Tab Pages

The tab pages on the main menu are:

      1. The TRANSLATE TO FIF tab page

This tab page allows you to select a set of non-FIF files for translation to FIF files. Multiple files can be selected for translation at one time.

      2. The TRANSLATE FROM FIF tab page

This page allows you to select FIF files for translation to other tube fabrication file standards. Multiple FIF files can be selected.

Keep in mind that each FIF file can also contain multiple files or parts internally. FIF Translator will open each FIF file and translate each internal part to a single non-FIF file, then proceed to the next FIF file to open all of its internal files. For example, if the first FIF file contains 100 parts and the second contains 200 parts, then FIF Translator will attempt to create 300 individual translated files.

      3. The QUICKVIEW tab page

This tab page allows you to select a file to view and/or print its internal contents.

      4. The FIF FILE INFO tab page

This tab page allows you to search an FIF file to find how many parts are present. If parts are present, then their part names are displayed.

      5. The FIF LOG FILE tab page

FIF Translator stores information in log files for every translation you make from FIF files. This tab page allows you to search for the latest log file and display/print its contents to include with your other measuring center inspection reports.
