The three ELdata options, Setup, Velocity, and Tooling, control actual EL parameters within the FIF file.
Note that the ELData options can be also accessed from within the Translate from ATT Files to FIF Files menu (see the image to the right).
Read the following material to learn how to use these three sets of options. You can click on many of the screen images to see enlarged views.
The Setup menu contains several general setup values.
For example, the Tube Load Position is the position of the carriage during loading of a tube.
Before entering the values, be sure to select the correct Units button at the top of the menu. The FIF Translator needs to know which unit you are using to enter these values. These Units buttons have no direct effect on the units used in source files (like TubeCAD files being translated to FIF), or units used in other menus.
Press the Close button to exit the menu.
The Velocity menu allows you to set the default speed of the three major axes (Y, B, and C).
The minimum is 1 and maximum is 10 for EL benders.
Use the Set All To Maximum button to set all three axes to speed 10.
Press the Close button to exit the menu.
The Tooling menu controls a mixture of values (distance and otherwise) that relate to the bender tooling.
The Fixed and Proportional values, for example are non-distance values that control a springback formula within the Eaton Leonard bender control.
Refer to our Overbend manual included within the Benderlink manual to read more about the springback formula.
Press the Close button to exit the menu.
