This page describes some possible setup topologies for the Benderlink system.

( "Topology" is the science of geometric configurations. As applied to computer systems, it involves the physical arrangement of the interconnected computers.)

The hardware can be installed in a variety of arrangments depending on your specific application. These are three examples of how the Benderlink system can be implemented. (Other arrangements are possible.)

    1. Desktop Unit At The Tube Measuring Center

Some customers ask that a single unit be installed at the measuring center.

Mutliple benders can be addressed using simple A-B switch (or T-switch) technology.

The image below shows a Benderlink Deskop unit at a tube measuring center. (This measuring center is an Eaton Leonard Vector that was retrofitted by Multi Systems, Inc. with Supravision software.)

    2. Desktop Unit In Between Several Benders

Some customers ask that a single unit be installed central to the benders.

Mutliple benders can be addressed using simple A-B switch (or T-switch) technology.

The Benderlink Destop unit below shows a Benderlink unit in the middle of four benders. (This was the unit displayed at a FABTECH show in the Cambridge Machinery booth. It uses a large monitor mounted on a stand-up computer table.)

    3. Desktop Unit At Each Bender Attached To The Company Network

Some customers ask that a single unit be installed at each bender and attached to a company server using through a network connection. Benders effectively become nodes on the network in this application.

In most of these applications, customers also ask that we write translation software that converts company data files to the Benderlink IV format. For more information on our translation programming service, see our Custom Programming Service page.

The unit displayed below uses this configuration and is attached to the customer's main server using a standard Ethernet connection. Any part files can be modified or accessed by the engineering department which is a quarter-mile from the bender.
